Quality, local healthcare is easy to access at Desert Senita Community Health Center. Our multi-disciplinary team of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, behavioral health professionals, dentists, nurses, and support staff work together to make sure patients receive the best care possible. Many support staff members are bilingual, ensuring that information is communicated in a professional yet caring manner.
Physicians
Carol A. Johnson, DO, Medical Director
Dr. Johnson has been with Desert Senita since June of 2004, and became Medical Director in October 2004. She graduated from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California in 1998, and completed her residency at Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute in Kingston, New York. Prior to making Ajo her home, Dr. Johnson served as a staff physician at Mid-Hudson, and was a member of the residency faculty, supervising residents and other personnel. Dr. Johnson is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice, and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and the American Academy of Family Physicians. |

Physician Assistants
Benjamin W. Blackburn, PA-C
Ben Blackburn has been at Desert Senita for nearly two years, beginning at Desert Senita in the summer of 2006. He graduated from Idaho State University, located in Pocatello, Idaho, in December 2005, and completed rotations in a variety of different clinical practices. Mr. Blackburn is the assigned Same Day Clinic (SDC) provider, and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants. |

Nurse Practitioners
Patricia K. Summers, FNP
Patti Summers is the newest member of the Desert Senita medical staff, arriving at the health center in October 2007. She has over 7 years experience as a nurse practitioner, working in a variety of settings including family practice and urgent care clinics. Ms. Summers was a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) scholar, and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau, a national nursing honor society. |

Dentists
Jennifer Lim, DDS, Dental Director
Dr. Lim has been at Desert Senita Dental Center since December 2004. She graduated from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California in May 2003. Before she arrived in Ajo, Dr. Lim did locum tenens or temporary assignments in a variety of Phoenix-area dental practices, and was the staff dentist at Desert Senita Dental Center prior to her promotion to Dental Director in January 2008. Dr. Lim is a member of the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. |

Behavioral Health Clinicians
Susan Guinn-Lahm, MA, LPC, CRC, Lead Behavioral Health Clinician
Ms. Guinn-Lahm is an Ajo native, and prior to working at Desert Senita she served as a volunteer on its governing board from 1997 to 2001. She successfully completed her masters of arts in special education and rehabilitation, with an emphasis in counseling, at the University of Arizona in 2003, and became a full-time behavioral health clinician at Desert Senita in June 2003. Ms. Guinn-Lahm previously worked for the local Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA), Project PPEP, and has extensive experience working with developmentally disabled adults and children. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). |

Yvonne Crewse, LPC, MAPC
Ms. Crewse joined the Desert Senita counseling staff in January 2008. Like Ms. Guinn-Lahm, she is also a native of Ajo. Prior to joining the Desert Senita team in January 2008, Ms. Crewse worked as a crisis counselor with a crisis intervention group in Phoenix, Arizona. Ms. Crewse graduated from Ottawa University with a Masters in Professional Counseling with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Expressive Art Therapies in 2004, and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2007.
